Roxanich Lara 1/6 Mono cepage 2011/12 (Roxanich winery)

Roxanich Lara 1/6 is not a conventional wine for conformists - it paves the way for long macerated, naturally amber wines, obtained by macerating Istrian Malvasia.

First the must, and then the wine, spontaneously ferment in contact with the grape skins for no more than 6 months in large wooden tanks. After extended maceration, the wine matures in wooden barrels before achieving its impeccable state for bottling at that ideal moment.

Named after Mladen's first daughter, Roxanich's interpretation of prolonged maceration Malvasia has the additional value of raising awareness of genuine and natural winemaking.

The aging process in large, neutral barrels sometimes lasts up to ten years. The winemaking approach of minimal intervention creates a wine of different, lasting beauty. The wine, with its bright amber color, unfiltered and without stabilization, possesses restless life-giving energy.

Unanesthetized, wild beauty of Roxanich Lara 1/6 is crowned with refined appearance. Intensity and fullness are balanced with freshness, in a new unity of soft tannins, supple texture, and elegance. Its aromatic richness includes dried figs, almond milk, pollen, and Mediterranean medicinal herbs.

Roxanich Lara 1/6 wine functions as a self-sufficient meditative stimulant, but it truly presents its versatility when paired with selected dishes. Roxanich Lara 1/6 fascinates with spicy Eastern dishes, as well as traditional Japanese raw cuisine and all structured dishes that pair well with red wines.
